Click "Sign In" on the login page and authorize Warband Companion through Battle.net. This grants read-only access to your character data — we never modify your account.
After signing in, your characters are synced automatically. You can trigger a manual sync from the dashboard using the Sync button. Sync frequency depends on your subscription tier.
If one of your characters is in a WoW guild, the guild will appear automatically after syncing. Guild officers can enable additional features like suggestions and raid tracking from the guild settings page.
Warband Companion pulls your character data from the official Blizzard Battle.net API. This includes gear, professions, collections, M+ ratings, and more. Data is refreshed each time you sync.
All users can sync manually on demand, subject to a cooldown. Pro and Guild tiers get a shorter cooldown between syncs, with Guild tier the shortest. Your exact cooldown is shown on the dashboard and in the top navigation bar.
Click the Sync button on the dashboard or the sync health indicator in the top navigation bar. If your cooldown has expired, the sync will start immediately.
Blizzard API data can be cached on their end for up to a few hours. If you recently made in-game changes, wait a bit and sync again. The sync health indicator in the nav bar shows how fresh your data is.
The dashboard shows customizable widgets for your characters, M+ progress, raid readiness, and more. You can rearrange, hide, or show widgets by dragging them or using the layout controls.
The floating lightbulb button (bottom-right) lets guild members submit feedback for any page. You can categorize suggestions, vote on others, and track admin responses from your My Suggestions page.
The Warband section gives you an overview of all your characters across realms — gear, professions, M+ keys, weekly progress, and more — in one place.
Guild pages show roster, raid logs, M+ leaderboards, events, and officer tools. Some features require guild officers to enable them in guild settings.
The Collections section tracks your mounts, pets, toys, heirlooms, and titles. You can see completion percentages and find what you are missing.
The website works with Battle.net alone. For in-game SavedVariables (vault progress, keystones, gold, currencies, professions, combat helpers, Assist bridge), install the Windows desktop app from /download — it installs the WoW addon and uploads addon data. The addon cannot talk to the internet by itself; without the desktop app running, addon data never syncs.
Download the Windows installer from warband-companion.com/download and sign in (device pairing). The app installs/updates the addon into your WoW AddOns folder. Keep the desktop app running while you play so sync stays fresh. After addon updates, /reload in WoW (or logout) so SavedVariables flush to disk.
User commands: /wbc or /wbc status (sync summary), /wbc config (settings), /wbc minimap (toggle minimap button), /wbc help, and /wbc on or /wbc off to show or hide the minimap button. There is no /wbc sync. Developer diagnostics (/wbc dev on, then debug, errors, or diag) stay off unless you enable dev mode.
Keep the desktop app running with auto-sync on, then /reload in WoW (or logout). There is no "/wbc sync" command — that does not exist. In-game use /wbc (status), /wbc config, /wbc status, /wbc minimap, /wbc help, and /wbc on or /wbc off for the minimap button.
On Windows, the desktop app can show an always-on-top Warband Advisor chat panel beside the game (same advisor as the website). Toggle with Ctrl+Shift+A (rebindable in Settings) or the system tray. Use borderless or windowed WoW, or a second monitor — exclusive fullscreen is not supported. This is an external companion window, not an inject into WoW.
Assist is a second overlay tab (next to Advisor) that follows in-game context: Group Finder applicants (fit / take-pass), Great Vault claim coach when the vault UI is open, personal loot ranking when a loot window or toast appears, Need/Greed roll tips, item-upgrade coaching, and local SimC ΔDPS when those UIs are open. Claim and equip stay in Blizzard UI — Assist only recommends. Core Assist and SimC are on the stable desktop channel; Scout map coaching and tracked-achievement criteria overlays stay alpha-only (Allow alpha updates plus a team-granted invite).
Usually not. If you already claimed (or nothing is unclaimed), Assist shows an empty mid-week state instead of ranking locked or preview slots. Open the Great Vault when you still have unclaimed rewards to get ranked claim suggestions vs your gear and BiS.
Need a current addon + desktop build with Assist loot enabled and the Assist bridge painting in-game (desktop app running, ServerData synced). Personal loot often auto-bags via toast — Assist sticks briefly after the toast. If Group Finder is open as the only context and loot never fired, you will stay on GF/idle Assist. Update addon, /reload, then open the desktop Assist bridge panel or enable /wbc dev on and run /wbc dev diag if you need pipe status.
Stable is the default updater channel and includes the Assist overlay tab (Group Finder, vault, loot, upgrade, SimC). Beta is opt-in from desktop settings (no invite). Alpha needs both "Allow alpha updates" in desktop Settings and an alpha invite on your account. Invites are limited dogfood — the Warband Companion team grants them; guild officers cannot grant alpha. Alpha still unlocks Scout and achievement-criteria Assist before they graduate to stable.
Two steps: (1) In the desktop app, Settings → enable "Allow alpha updates". (2) Your account needs an alpha invite on file — the team grants those for dogfood; ask in Discord if you think you should have access. Guild officers cannot grant alpha. Once invited, restart the desktop app so it picks up the alpha channel.
Use the desktop app Assist bridge panel for live bridge JSON, or in WoW run /wbc dev on then /wbc dev diag (developer mode) for a pipe snapshot saved to addon data. If Assist is OFF, open the desktop app so it writes ServerData (channel prefs), then /reload. Feature OFF or a hidden bridge frame usually needs one /reload after desktop sync.

Make sure your character is level 10+ and that you have logged into the game recently. Try syncing again. If the issue persists, check that your Battle.net profile is not set to private.
Sync errors are usually temporary — the Blizzard API may be under maintenance or experiencing issues. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, submit a support ticket.
Your character must be in a guild in-game. After syncing, the guild should appear. If it does not, the guild may not yet exist in our system — a second sync usually resolves this.
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If the issue continues, check our status at the top of the page or submit a support ticket.
Free gives you basic access with on-demand sync. Pro unlocks a shorter sync cooldown, advanced analytics, and more widgets. Guild tier adds officer tools, raid logs, and team management for guilds, plus the shortest sync cooldown.
Go to Settings > Subscription to view your current plan. From there you can upgrade, downgrade, or manage your billing through the Stripe customer portal.
Yes, you can cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal (Settings > Subscription > Manage). Your Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period.
You revert to the Free tier. Your data is preserved — you just lose access to Pro features like faster syncs and advanced analytics. You can re-subscribe at any time.
